To me Jazz is a genre of music I associate with soul and blues combined to create a bold sound. Listening to Jazz makes me feel sophisticated and cultured. It's hard to not want to move your body when you listen.
Taniya - To me jazz is two things, a sound of music, and a more upbeat way of dancing. Jazz music can be compared to more of a blues and soul sound, like a lot of what they use to play in the early 1960's. Jazz dance is high energy and there is more improvisation unlike ballet where you have to learn specific moves.
Jazz dance is a dynamic and creative personal improvisation. It is a fast and dynamic rhythmic dance, which belongs to an extroverted dance, unlike the introverted dance shown by classical dance and ballet.
